Hockey demands specific skills and position-based physical requirements, and injuries can range from minor niggles to major surgery recoveries. At West Coast Physiotherapy, we understand the game - and we understand hockey players.
Tania Althorpe brings elite-level experience, having been Head Physiotherapist at WAIS and worked with hockey athletes within multidisciplinary teams. She has travelled with multiple hockey teams, including the Thundersticks, and managed everything from short-term injuries to ACL and hip surgery rehabilitation. Tania also focuses on injury prevention, developing programs to reduce the risk of common hockey injuries such as
hip strains and
hamstring strains. Her expertise is reinforced by teaching Postgraduate students at Curtin University on hip and groin injuries.
Renee Rockliff brings a player’s perspective, having been a WAIS hockey athlete and Thundersticks player. Now a Sport and Exercise Physiotherapist, she applies her elite athlete experience to deliver targeted care, helping hockey players recover, prevent injuries, and perform at their best.
